Job Details

Responsibilities
  • Manage the full order-entry process, including receiving, coding, processing, confirming, and tracking customer orders.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned accounts and resolve issues involving product, pricing, allowances, freight, invoicing, shortages, and substitutions.
  • Monitor customer purchasing activity and identify opportunities to increase participation and sales within assigned product categories.
  • Communicate regularly with customers regarding orders, market conditions, product availability, promotions, and purchasing opportunities.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal logistics teams to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
  • Partner with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable to resolve billing discrepancies and pass-through charges.
  • Support category management initiatives including new programs, spot buys, replenishment opportunities, pricing updates, and customer commitments.
  • Maintain strong working relationships across Category Management, Logistics, Finance, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and supplier partners.
  • Participate in occasional industry events, purchasing conferences, or customer food shows.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of customer service, account support, inside sales, or related experience preferred.
  • Foodservice, food distribution, protein/commodity, or related industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong order management and problem-solving capabilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with pricing, freight, invoicing, and customer account issues.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Organized, assertive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database/order-management systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college or business coursework preferred.
  • Limited travel, typically less than 5%.
