Akkodis is seeking a Custom Software Engineer for a Contract job with a client in New York, NY. The ideal candidate must have strong experience supporting GxP-regulated systems, electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN), and scientific applications, along with expertise in SDLC processes and stakeholder collaboration.
Rate Range: $92/hour to $115/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Custom Software Engineer job responsibilities include:
Design, configure, and support scientific applications and laboratory systems in compliance with GxP regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with scientific, quality, and technical teams to analyze requirements and implement scalable digital laboratory solutions.
Support implementation and optimization of electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) platforms, including Revvity Signals and related systems.
Participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, testing, deployment, and support.
Develop and maintain system documentation, validation artifacts, testing scripts, and regulatory compliance records.
Work closely with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for process automation and scientific workflow optimization.
Support issue resolution, troubleshooting, change management, and enhancement activities for regulated applications.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience supporting GxP-regulated applications and scientific systems.
Strong understanding of: GxP Compliance, Computer System Validation (CSV), Scientific Laboratory Processes, System Documentation, Regulatory Requirements.
Hands-on experience with electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN), including Revvity Signals or similar platforms.
Experience working within Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies.
Proficiency with: Jira, Confluence, Testing and Validation Tools
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience implementing end-to-end scientific workflows in electronic laboratory notebooks or laboratory information systems.
Knowledge of data governance frameworks and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data principles.
Experience collaborating with business intelligence, analytics, dashboarding, and reporting teams.
Experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences environments.
Knowledge of laboratory operations, scientific data management, and digital laboratory transformation initiatives.

Pay Details: $92.00 to $115.00 per hour
