This will involve collaboration in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum, resources, and programs that meet the needs of students across Harmony districts. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: o Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. o Minimum 2 years of teaching, administrative or professional experience. o Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in Social Studies (4-8 or 7-12) o Master's degree (preferred) o Experience in social studies, instruction, coaching, or curriculum support (preferred) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: o Understands and supports the mission, vision and values of Harmony Public Schools. o Supports the implementation and refinement of Harmony's Social Studies curriculum (PK-12), ensuring alignment with state standards and district priorities o Supports central office leadership in the coordination and implementation of civics initiatives o Assists in promoting a culture of informed action across Harmony campuses and districts, including supporting inquiry-based approaches to instruction and Student Leadership Society (SLS) o Provides support to HPS schools in the use of district-adopted and district-created instructional resources o Develops and facilitates professional learning alongside instructional coaches and teachers aligned with system goals and research-based literacy practices o Assists in the development and revision of formal and informal assessments o Collects, analyzes, and shares student performance and program data to support instructional decision-making and continuous improvement o Collaborates with Curriculum Directors, instructional coaches, curriculum writers, and System-Course Leaders to support consistent implementation of curriculum and instructional practices o Maintains awareness of state accountability requirements and current trends in social studies instruction o Coordinates with vendors and support partners to assist with the implementation and training of instructional resources o Supports the review and improvement of curricula and instructional programs o Participates in professional learning opportunities to strengthen knowledge of social studies instruction and civics o Visits campuses, to support implementation and provide assistance to instructional staff o Participates in meetings and collaborate in planning processes o Performs other duties as assigned. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: o Strong knowledge of inquiry instructional approaches and civil discourse in the classroom o Knowledge of Texas standards (TEKS) and how they relate to HPS curriculum and assessment practices o Ability to support the development, implementation, and refinement of Social Studies curriculum, including alignment to standards and best practices o Ability to analyze and interpret student performance data to inform instructional decisions and program improvements o Ability to design and facilitate professional learning that supports adult learners and promotes effective instructional practices o Proficiency in using instructional technology, digital learning platforms, and data systems to support teaching and learning o Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines o Ability to problem-solve, think critically, and adapt to changing needs and district priorities o Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district. o Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district. o Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone.
