Position Summary The Senior Living Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing, and well-balanced meals for residents while following established menus, food-safety standards, and dietary requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks according to planned menus.
Follow residents’ special diets, allergies, and food preferences.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
Prepare food in appropriate portions and ensure meals are served on time.
Monitor food supplies and communicate inventory needs to the supervisor.
Work cooperatively with kitchen and senior living staff.
Provide courteous and respectful service to residents.
Qualifications
Previous cooking or food-service experience preferred.
Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to follow recipes, menus, and dietary instructions.
Reliable, organized, and able to work as part of a team.
Experience in senior living, healthcare, or institutional food service is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry kitchen supplies and equipment as needed.
