Full-Time | On-Site | Finance & Accounting

The Controller oversees accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance for a growing multi-location retail organization. Reporting to the CFO, this role ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial information while building scalable processes that support continued expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead period end closes; prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP
  • Manage all accounting operations: general ledger, AP/AR, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and revenue recognition
  • Establish and maintain internal controls; coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Support CFO in annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow monitoring; analyze budget-vs-actual variances
  • Partner with Operations to monitor store-level profitability, labor costs, COGS/margin trends, and expense management
  • Lead ERP/financial system improvements; standardize and automate accounting processes across locations
  • Support financial integration of new and acquired locations
  • Lead, develop, and set performance expectations for the accounting team

Success Metrics

Performance will be assessed on: timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting, close process efficiency, audit outcomes, budget variance management, strength of internal controls, and accounting team development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA strongly preferred
  • 8-12+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including Controller or senior accounting leadership
  • Strong GAAP knowledge; experience with multi-location retail, automotive, or service environments preferred
  • Proven ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
  • High integrity, strong analytical and organizational skills

Base Salary Range $130k-$170k DOE
