Benefits Specialist

Location:  St Petersburg, 33716 – This position is onsite

Pay:  $24.50 per hour

Type:  Contract, ~(4) months with possible extension

Schedule: M-F, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST

Start date: Oct 19 2026



Job description:

  1. Benefit Program Administration (20%) Support the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs—including Medical, Dental, Vision, Pharmacy, Section 125, and Retirement plans—ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely employee support under the guidance of the Benefits Administration Manager.
  2. Employee Support & Issue Resolution (15%) Provide responsive service to employee benefit inquiries, coordinating with internal teams (e.g., Payroll, Legal) and vendors to resolve issues and ensure a positive employee experience.
  3. Annual Enrollment & Special Projects (15%) Assist in the planning and execution of annual open enrollment, ensuring system readiness, clear communication, and efficient vendor coordination; support special benefits projects that improve operations and the employee experience.
  4. Vendor & Operational Management (30%) Manage vendor relationships and participate in operational processes including invoice audits, plan document updates, file transfers, and system enhancements; contribute to workflow improvements and overall operational excellence.
  5. Compliance, Reporting & Industry Insight (20%) Maintain compliance by managing enrollment changes, QMSOs, and reporting; stay informed on industry trends and make recommendations to improve benefits programs, policies, and employee satisfaction.

 

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

 

Requirements:

  • Must have (5)+ years of experience working with benefits as an HR Coordinator/Benefits Coordinator or similar
  • Must be MS Office proficient and proficient in HRIS systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Background check required
  • Drug screening required
