Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Athletics, the Special Projects Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the management, coordination, and implementation of special projects and initiatives within the Athletic Department. Such projects include, but are not limited to, athletic events, facility operations, department initiatives, community partnerships, compliance-related projects, and special programming.

The Special Projects Coordinator works closely with other departments within the college, as well as with outside organizations, agencies, and school districts. This position requires excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications

Education: Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree preferred from an accredited institution, preferably in sports management, education, or related field.

Experience: Minimum of two years of experience working in an athletics department or athletic organization. Junior College experience is preferred.

Knowledge: Familiarity with NJCAA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  1. Act as on-site liaison between renter/athletic team and the Coordinator for Athletic Facilities and Special Events and/or Athletics Director during athletic events.

  2. Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing athletic events, tournaments, special events, and departmental initiatives, including scheduling, logistics, staffing, equipment, and event operations.

  3. Perform routine duties using word processing, data processing, data entry, database management, scheduling systems, spreadsheets, and other computer systems and software.

  4. Assist with maintaining athletic compliance records and documentation, including student-athlete eligibility, required forms, certifications, and other materials necessary to support compliance with NJCAA and College rules and regulations.

  5. Setup and/or operate scoreboard and PA systems.

  6. Supervise and assist with Athletic Event workers and Student workers training.

  7. Other duties as assigned.

  1. Rate of pay is $22.20 per hour, maximum 28 hours per week
