Description

Reporting to the Director, Communications, the Communications Coordinator will support the day-to-day functions of the corporate communications vertical and provide administrative support to the entire communications department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: compiling and sending daily clips; assisting with the distribution of all media communications; handling credential and parking requests from media; working with seasonal associates on distribution list maintenance and media monitoring reports; assisting with proactive media pitching for business-related stories and events; and other written communications as needed. 

The Nationals are a military-friendly organization actively recruiting veterans and spouses. 

This is a full time position. The Coordinator must be available to work in person in Washington, D.C.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Compile daily media clips on weekdays and during weekend homestands. 
  • Distribute press materials via email, the Nationals website and @NationalsComms X account. 
  • Seve as the primary contact for media credential and parking requests. 
  • Manage the department’s administrative tasks, including subscription services, invoices, etc. 
  • Build, update and maintain press lists.  
  • Write press materials and media pitches as needed.  
  • Assemble and format coverage recaps for assigned campaigns and full season. 
  • Assist with VIP and media escorting as needed. 
  • Serve as the staff representative on media interviews as requested. 
  • Maintain department calendar for upcoming announcements, events and other media materials. 
  • Assist with the recruitment, training and development of seasonal corporate communications associate. 
  • Assist with events, including media tour, opening day media, DC Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Heroes Day, etc. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
