Tropical Grille in Downtown Greenville is looking for a cook or prep person.
Job Title: Cook
The cook position at Tropical Grille is responsible for prepping ready to eat foods and cooking food to order. The individual will have to have high quality food standards and be able to work in a fast-paced food environment.
Responsibilities
o Responsible for cooking food to order
o Responsible for prepping ready to eat foods
o Responsible for the preparation of caterings
o Responsible for maintaining food quality, consistency, and freshness
o Responsible for putting away truck orders
o Maintain cleanliness of kitchen
Policy Adherence
o Cook position is responsible for adherence to all guidelines and procedures set forth by Tropical Grille, including but not limited to:
§ Adherence to DHEC and Tropical Grille rules and regulations
§ Adherence to Tropical Grille Recipes
§ Communicating with management if help is needed
§ Ensure proper rotation and labeling of food, FIFO
§ Any additional tasks assigned to or asked of them by management
Skills and Competencies
o Knowledge of food safe temperatures
o Basic knife skills
o Sense of Urgency and Speed
o Muti-tasking skills
o Organization
o Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 50lbs
Required Qualifications
o One year restaurant kitchen experience
Job Title: Prep
The Prep position at Tropical Grille is responsible for prepping all cold food items (peppers, onions, cucumbers, cold backups, sauces, etc.) Must be able to set your own pace and work well alone.
Responsibilities
o Responsible for prepping cold food items and vegetables
o Responsible for putting away truck orders
o Responsible for preparing caterings
o Responsible for maintaining food quality, consistency, and freshness
o Responsible for preparation of sauces
o Maintain cleanliness of kitchen
