Job Duration:                 12+ months contract
Est. Pay Range:               $60 to $90/hr on w2
Work Type:                   On Site (Ability to travel up to 50% domestically)

  • Engineering - Controls Performs a controls function for a larger mechanical or electrical system which applies control theory to design systems with desired behaviors.
  • These activities focus on implementation of control systems mainly derived by mathematical modeling of systems of a diverse range.
 
Job Specific Requirements               
  • The Client Energy Senior Field Application Engineer Client is a technical expert responsible for providing on-site support, product expertise, and solutions for Battery Enabled Residential HVAC Applications.
  • This role is a critical link between Client’s engineering teams and end customers, ensuring successful product integration, troubleshooting, and ongoing technical guidance.
  • The Sr Field Applications Engineer collaborates closely with sales, product management, and development teams to deliver high-value solutions and strengthen customer relationships.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for Client customers, addressing inquiries related to product functionality, integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Support Utility Customer Lab Testing, test plan development.
  • Support the coordination, installation and commissioning of Field Trial Units.
  • On site coordination of Utility Program or Partner Led Battery Enabled Heat pump installations and commissioning support led by Parters.
  • Conduct on-site visits to assist in product installation, commissioning, and optimization of Client systems and solutions to improve onboarding and commissioning procedures and tools.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and training to customers, partners, and internal teams on Client Energy products and technologies.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, working collaboratively with Client’s engineering and technical support teams.
  • Monitors & analyzes field test and pilot data, partnering with R&D engineers to troubleshoot and implement product improvements.
  • Gather customer feedback and requirements, communicating insights to product management and engineering for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of customer interactions, technical issues, and resolutions.
 
Level of Responsibility:
  • Problems faced are complex and require extensive investigation / analysis
  • Communicates with senior leadership regarding matters of strategic importance to the organization;conducts briefings with senior leaders in and outside of job function
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related fields and 5 + years of experience.
  • Or Advanced Degree in a related field with 3+ years of experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestically.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with demand response programs, VPPs, or distributed energy resources (DER).
  • Experience with Residential HVAC and battery technologies or related energy management solutions.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple priorities and ambiguity
  • Ability to lead and work in cross-functional environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ideal candidate for this position is an excellent communicator who possesses a combination of business acumen, industry experience, technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with program management and a proven record as an effective leader / influencer is a plus.
