Job Title: Controls Engineer 2
Location: Mossville, IL Onsite
Duration: Permanent (Full-Time)
Schedule: First Shift | 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
Travel: 0 25% Domestic

We are looking for a Controls Engineer 2 to support system-level validation for a Modular Power Conversion System (MPCS). The role focuses on validation planning, software and controls testing, HIL testing, troubleshooting, and supporting new product introduction (NPI) activities.

• Develop and maintain system validation plans aligned with project milestones.
• Define validation scope, test strategies, and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate laboratory, HIL, endurance, integration, and field validation activities.
• Validate software releases, firmware updates, network communications, HMI functionality, and control algorithms.
• Support system integration, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations.
• Track validation progress and ensure testing is completed on schedule.
• Collaborate with software, controls, electrical, telematics, cybersecurity, quality, and product support teams.
• Communicate validation status, risks, issues, and recommendations.
• Support NPI and sustaining engineering projects.
• Help drive issue resolution and successful product releases.

• 2 4 years of engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in:
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Systems Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Related technical discipline
• Internships may be considered as relevant experience.
• Electrical engineering background.
• Experience with Vector CANape and CANalyzer.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• HIL testing experience.
• System integration and validation experience.
• Experience with controls, communications, HMI, or power systems.
• Project planning and prioritization.
• Clear technical communication.
• Experience working in an NPI environment.

An Electrical, Computer, Systems, or Mechanical Engineer with 2 4 years of experience and hands-on exposure to Vector tools and MATLAB/Simulink. The candidate should have strong troubleshooting and validation skills and be comfortable working with multiple engineering teams.
