Ready to move beyond traditional accounting leadership and have a true seat at the table? This Controller opportunity offers direct partnership with the President, ownership of the accounting function, and the ability to influence financial strategy, profitability, and operational decision-making across a growing organization.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced accounting leader who enjoys staying close to the numbers while also thinking strategically about the business.
Earn a competitive $140,000–$160,000 base salary
Partner directly with the President, giving the Controller significant visibility and influence on business decisions
Take ownership of accounting while gaining broader exposure to HR and administrative operations
Lead, mentor, and develop an accounting team while creating stronger processes and accountability
Play an integral role in budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and long-term business planning
Move beyond reporting historical results and help leadership understand the financial drivers behind business performance
Identify opportunities to modernize systems, improve workflows, and introduce automation across the finance function
Gain broad exposure to operations and develop a deep understanding of how projects impact overall profitability
Lead audit processes, strengthen internal controls, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
Enjoy a stable environment with a consistent schedule and a leadership team that values true work-life balance
Step into a hands-on Controller position where you can make meaningful improvements rather than simply maintain existing processes
As the Controller, you will oversee day-to-day accounting operations while serving as a key financial partner to executive leadership.
Lead the monthly close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
Oversee accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and job costing
Prepare and analyze financial statements, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for leadership
Partner with the President and other leaders on annual budgets, forecasts, and strategic business planning
Monitor project profitability, job costs, margins, and percentage-of-completion accounting
Develop financial reporting and analysis that supports stronger operational decision-making
Manage, mentor, and develop accounting team members while establishing clear expectations and accountability
Evaluate existing accounting processes and implement improvements, efficiencies, and automation
Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
Coordinate external audits and serve as the primary accounting contact throughout the audit process
Help the Controller function evolve alongside the organization as the business continues to grow
The ideal Controller will bring:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
Previous accounting leadership or management experience
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Experience with job costing and percentage-of-completion accounting
Experience leading month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Strong understanding of internal controls and audit processes
Ability to manage and develop an accounting team
Comfortable operating in a hands-on environment and moving between detailed accounting work and higher-level strategy
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively partner with executive and operational leadership
This opportunity is ideal for a Controller who wants more than ownership of the close and financial statements. You'll thrive here if you enjoy understanding the operational side of a business, identifying opportunities to improve profitability, developing your team, and serving as a trusted financial resource to leadership.
If you're looking for executive-level visibility, meaningful influence, and the opportunity to help shape the finance function of a growing organization, this Controller position offers the chance to make a lasting impact.
