    Description

    This position is responsible for

    Reviewing and analyzing various contracts associated with Social Services grants and contracts from a Risk Management perspective, with particular emphasis on standard indemnification and insurance requirements. Ensures contract language and records comply with risk, legal, and regulatory standard language requirements.

    This position performs a variety of clerical and administrative support work in a confidential manner. Maintains record keeping and reporting of grants and contracts and responds to inquiries regarding grants and contracts operations

    Key responsibilities:

    • Analyzes, reviews, and processes contracts from Social Services Grants and Contracts to ensure compliance with risk management policies, with particular emphasis on indemnification and insurance requirements to protect Salvation Army's interest, and inputs comments into the Social Services database for tracking contract status.

    • Prepares Certificates of Insurance (CIO) for field units and contractual agreements; ensures Certificates of Insurance requested or received meet requirements and/or provide adequate protection for the Salvation Army; ensures they are in compliance with insurance requirements; and maintains proper documentation.

    • Answers the telephone in a courteous and tactful manner; assists employees and people from outside The Salvation Army by providing accurate and complete information regarding the section's operations; attempts to resolve complaints in a calm, courteous, and tactful manner; and refers calls to the appropriate individual.

    Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

    Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.).

    Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

    Education and Experience

    • Associate degree from an accredited college or technical/vocational school. AND
    • Three years progressively responsible Administrative support experience with the ability to decipher complex legal language in documents, preferably in a legal or insurance environment. OR
    • Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
