Contract Paralegal Associate

Fully Remote | East Coast Candidates Preferred$37-$60/Hour | Full-Time Contract | Approximately 6 Months

Our client, a nationally recognized nonprofit legal and advocacy organization, is seeking a Contract Paralegal Associate to support a high-impact litigation team during a particularly active period of casework.

This is an exciting opportunity for a litigation paralegal who is passionate about mission-driven work and wants to contribute to matters that have a meaningful public impact. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation support experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to step into active cases with minimal training.

What You'll Do

• Manage and organize litigation case files and legal documents
• Assist attorneys with the preparation and filing of pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
• Coordinate court filings and maintain litigation calendars
• Support all phases of the discovery process
• Conduct legal and factual research
• Draft, edit, and proofread memoranda, reports, correspondence, and other legal documents
• Perform cite-checking and Bluebooking
• Maintain document management systems and litigation records
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail across legal filings and public-facing materials

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of paralegal experience
• Strong litigation support experience
• Discovery experience
• Document management and case organization experience
• Legal research and writing skills
• Bluebooking and cite-checking experience
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
• Strong time management and organizational skills

Preferred Backgrounds

• Nonprofit organizations
• Public interest law
• Civil rights, voting rights, or constitutional law
• Advocacy organizations
• Impact litigation

Traditional law firm experience is not required. Candidates from mission-driven organizations and public interest environments are encouraged to apply.

Position Details

• Location: Fully Remote - Candidates may be based anywhere on the East Coast
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Contract Length: Approximately 6 months with potential for extension
• Pay Rate: $37-$60/hour, depending on experience
• Start Date: ASAP
