Description

We are seeking an experienced and diligent Construction Safety Specialist to support a large-scale manufacturing plant construction project in Tampa, FL. This professional will work onsite to ensure compliance with safety standards, promote a culture of safety, and mitigate risks throughout the construction process.
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Monitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and site-specific safety protocols. 
  • Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits. 
  • Support incident investigations and root cause analyses. 
  • Facilitate toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions. 
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and resolve safety concerns. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation of safety activities and reports. 
  • Serve as a liaison between contractors, site management, and safety leadership.
 
Experience Requirements: 
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably on large-scale industrial or manufacturing projects.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
 
Education Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field preferred.
 
Credentialing Requirements: 
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CHST, ASP or equivalent are required.
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Certification (preferred).
  • Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen
 
Physical Requirements:
  • Expected schedule 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
  • Candidate will be working night shift (9 PM to 5 AM) for at least the first six months. May extend for the duration of the project. 
  • Contract duration: Approximately three years.
  • On-site presence required in Tampa, Florida.
  • Most duties performed on feet. 
  • Able to carry equipment, as much as 30lbs unassisted. 
  • Push or pull items. 
  • Able to reach above head. 
  • Able to work variable shifts depending on work being completed at the time. 
  • Able to bend at the knee. 
  • Able to climb ladders to reach high areas. 
  • Able to wear a self-contained breathing apparatus. 
  • Able to squat, kneel or crouch in confined spaces when necessary. 
  • Able to detect burning sensations on skin etc. 
  • Vision must be correctable to at least 20:40 with ability to distinguish colors with good depth perception and peripheral vision.
 
Travel Requirements:
  • As needed
 
Compensation & Benefits: 
  • Starting at $100,000/year
 
Target Hire Date: 2-3 weeks from application
