CONSTRUCTION MANAGER II WATER/WASTEWATER FUTURE PROJECTS WORK LOCATION: LOS ANGELES, CA

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

  • Experience in working on water/wastewater projects and/or related heavy civil public works projects.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to prepare reports and present to management and other stakeholder.

  • 5+ years experience for CM I

  • 10+ years experience for CM II

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PE or CCM Certification

  • Experience in Alternate Delivery methods i.e. Design/Build

Typical Duties:

  • Report to the project site daily and oversee (not direct) the construction project to ensure contractor performance according to plans and specifications

  • Oversee daily construction activities for water/wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and related infrastructure. Related work could include demolition, grading, piping, concrete structures, mechanical equipment, tanks, paving, landscaping, electrical infrastructure, ancillary support structures, instrumentation and controls, SCADA/HMI, etc.

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations

  • Lead and document weekly OAC meetings and other required meetings

  • Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and public agencies to resolve field issues and maintain schedule integrity

  • Coordinate quick responses to RFIs, and Submittals.

  • Negotiate change orders fairly and per Public Contracts Code and Contract General Conditions.

  • Review, confirm, and recommend approval of contractor's payment requests

  • Actively participate in Partnering sessions.

  • Monitor progress against baseline schedules and budgets; implement corrective actions as needed

  • Work with Inspector of Record to ensure proper inspections, materials testing, shop inspections, and quality control reviews.
