West Sound Workforce is partnering with an established, employee-owned construction company with a strong reputation throughout the Puget Sound region to source an Estimator to join their team. With a focus on quality workmanship and attention to detail, this company specializes in a diverse range of projects, from residential renovations to large-scale commercial construction.
The Estimator will play an important role in the continued success of the company, taking ownership of the estimating process from initial project review through final bid. This is an opportunity for a motivated, self-directed professional who is comfortable working independently, takes accountability for their work, and communicates effectively with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and the internal team.
Shift information:- Full time
- Occasional weekends and evenings required
What you will do:- Develop full-scope cost estimates for a variety of public and private construction projects based on plans, specifications, and proposal documents
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation to develop accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing
- Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and vendor proposals, costs, and scopes of work
- Maintain organized bid files, estimate documentation, historical cost information, and related records throughout the estimating process
- Research materials, equipment, construction methods, and market costs to support accurate and competitive bids
- Support project planning and successful pursuits through peer review, forecasting, procurement, and coordination with project teams
What we are looking for:- 5+ years of construction estimating experience, with the ability to independently manage a complete project estimate from start to finish
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Strong understanding of construction costs, quantity takeoffs, and cost-based risk analysis
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and meet critical deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with engineers, project teams, subcontractors, and vendors
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive project information
