Job Summary


PDQuipment is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead our growing equipment service department at our Texas facility.


This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands mechanical repair, parts sourcing, technician management, and customer communication. You will be responsible for keeping repair jobs moving, helping technicians overcome roadblocks, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring customers receive clear and timely updates.


We are looking for someone who brings urgency, organization, accountability, and a positive attitude to the shop.


Responsibilities


  • Lead and support service technicians throughout the repair process
  • Prioritize jobs and keep equipment moving toward completion
  • Assist with diagnostics and determine appropriate repair strategies
  • Research and source replacement parts from multiple vendors
  • Review parts and labor needs before work proceeds
  • Communicate directly with customers regarding repairs, estimates, delays, and completion
  • Maintain accurate service tickets, notes, parts, and labor in our ERP system
  • Inspect completed work and maintain strong quality-control standards
  • Coordinate with our other locations and departments
  • Help recruit, train, and develop service technicians
  • Maintain a clean, organized, professional service environment
Qualifications


  • Previous experience managing or leading a mechanical service or repair shop
  • Strong mechanical knowledge; construction, industrial, diesel, hydraulic, automotive, or heavy-equipment experience preferred
  • Experience supervising and developing technicians
  • Strong parts-research and sourcing ability
  • Comfortable working with ERP, service-management, and computer systems
  • Strong customer communication skills
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple active repairs
  • Able to hold employees accountable while maintaining a productive team environment
  • Strong sense of urgency and follow-through
