Summary:
- Review designs of aerospace hardware for compliance with military specifications such as MIL-STD-11991.
- Review electrical and electronic equipment designs including piece parts, circuit card assemblies, wires and harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies.
- Develop non-standard part approval requests (NSPARs) for Department of Defense organizations.
- Interpret manufacturer datasheets, source control drawings, and Bill of Materials.
- Apply understanding of active and passive electronic piece parts including device manufacture and operation.
- Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
- Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods to analyze data and evaluate component acceptability.
- Perform detailed part level obsolescence management including monitoring BOMs, solving issues, scheduling implementation of fixes, and finding new sources.
- Work with design engineers, interface with other functional areas and vendors, and enforce PMPCP compliance.
- Make presentations to program management and customers.
Requirements:
- Ability to Obtain Security Clearance.
- Three (3) years of experience working to MIL-STD-11991 requirements.
- Experience developing non-standard part approval requests (NSPARs) to DoD organizations.
- Experience interpreting manufacturer datasheets, source control drawings, and Bill of Materials.
- Strong understanding of active and passive electronic piece parts.
- Experience with obsolescence management including monitoring BOMs, solving issues, scheduling fixes, and finding new sources.
- Experience with quality engineering reviews of design documentation.
- Experience applying statistical process control (SPC) methods.
- Willingness to accept wide variety of work assignments supporting end-to-end process of electronic systems.
- Experience working with design engineers, vendors, and enforcing PMPCP compliance.
