Job Title: Complaint Lab Receiving Clerk
Location: Alameda, CA 94502
Job Type: 12-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $19.00 $19.27per hour
Shift: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM

Position Overview
We are seeking a Complaint Lab Receiving Clerk to support a fast-paced laboratory and quality environment. This position combines hands-on receiving activities with data entry and product tracking. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving customer-returned products, accurately documenting them in the database, organizing and staging materials, and ensuring products are properly routed for investigation.
The role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and the ability to follow established procedures. Overtime, including daily and weekend work, may be required based on business and department needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, open, inspect, organize, and stage packages containing customer-returned products.
  • Accurately enter returned product information into the appropriate database and tracking systems.
  • Sort and separate returned products according to the designated area or investigation process.
  • Ensure products are properly identified, documented, and forwarded for investigation in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized storage of retained returns and related materials.
  • Follow established quality-system procedures and departmental requirements.
  • Ensure receiving and documentation activities are completed accurately and consistently.
  • Support department goals and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.

Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in receiving, warehouse operations, inventory, data entry, or laboratory support preferred.
  • Experience working in a regulated or quality-controlled environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical devices, In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) products, biologics, or applicable quality standards is a plus.

  • Basic computer skills and experience using data-entry systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to organize, sort, track, and manage multiple returned products.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting established deadlines.
  • Dependable attendance and flexibility to work overtime, including weekends, when required.
  • Ability to perform hands-on receiving activities, including opening packages, moving materials, organizing, and staging products.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and productivity.

Quality & Compliance
This position plays an important role in supporting the complaint investigation process. All returned products must be accurately received, documented, tracked, and forwarded for investigation within established timelines.
Accurate and timely processing helps ensure that product investigations are completed efficiently and that complaint activities remain compliant with applicable company procedures and regulatory requirements.
