Job Title: Compensation Consultant
Location: Houston, TX 77030 (Onsite)
Contract: 3 Months (Extension Possible)

Duties:
  • Monitors and coordinates the preparation of job descriptions and performance standards by providing managers with guidance on job content as it relates to minimum qualifications and organizational structure, and by ensuring consistency of format and compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintains job description files, ensuring job descriptions are on file and current for all jobs.
  • Assists leaders by clarifying human resources processes and requirements, paperwork flow, etc.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations on the exempt/nonexempt status of jobs for compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act upon request.
  • Collaborates with other functions such as IS and Payroll to audit data integrity. Helps ensure policies and practices are being followed. Helps ensure that pay practices are consistent with applicable laws.
  • We are looking for an individual who is analytical, has a great attitude, and a strong work ethic. This position will perform professional-level Compensation duties, such as preparing salary recommendations for new-hires, promotions, and demotions; working with leaders to monitor and review the preparation of job descriptions; assisting with the evaluation of jobs; and reviewing pay related data to resolve individual issues or for larger projects.

Skills:
  • Knowledge of governmental wage and hour laws, Joint Commission guidelines, and current industry compensation practices including job analysis, job evaluation and salary administration.
  • Ability to use effective verbal and written communications, problem-solve and analyze, conduct research, organize data, and maintain confidential information.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and proficiency in other MS Office applications.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to conduct research, analyze information and data, and present findings in a clear and concise format.
  • Ability to apply time management skills to handle multiple projects with overlapping time frames; ability to cope with shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work with large sets of data, look beyond the numbers, and understand the impact on various aspects of the business.
  • Ability to analyze information and data, present findings in a clear and concise format, organize data, and maintain confidential information.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and proficiency in other MS Office applications.
  • Bachelor s degree and at least 6 months of experience in HR, business, finance, analyst, or healthcare operations. Prior experience as a compensation professional is desirable.

Education:
  • Bachelor s Degree - Required
  • 6 months in Human resources, business, finance, analyst, or healthcare operations experience.
