    Description

    Compensation Analyst 
    (temporary) 
    • Location: Downtown Houston 
    • Parking: Candidate responsible for parking - discounted parking garage rates available 
    • Contract: 6 months - has a consideration of going direct/perm 
    • Hours: 8am - 5pm 

    POSITION OVERVIEW
    The Compensation Analyst supports the administration, analysis, and maintenance of the company’s compensation programs, including base pay, incentive compensation, market pricing, job evaluation, and compensation data management. This role partners with Human Resources and business leaders to provide compensation analysis, support compensation processes, maintain data integrity, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company guidelines.

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILIITIES
    • Administer compensation programs and recurring processes related to base pay, incentive compensation, market pricing, job evaluation, and compensation data maintenance.
    • Review and process compensation transactions including pay adjustments, promotions, transfers, job changes, incentive plan updates, and recognition awards.
    • Conduct market pricing analyses using compensation surveys and benchmarking tools and assist with internal and external compensation studies.
    • Evaluate new and revised positions using market data, internal equity considerations, and established job evaluation methodologies.
    • Provide compensation-related support and guidance to HR partners and business leaders on position management, job title reviews, and routine compensation questions.
    • Prepare reports, analyses, and supporting documentation for Legal, Regulatory, Finance, Accounting, and other business functions.
    • Maintain compensation and job-related data within HR systems, including SAP, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
    • Support compliance with applicable compensation laws and regulations, including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Equal Pay Act (EPA).
    • Administer and support employee recognition programs, including program maintenance, reporting, and inquiry resolution.
    • Identify issues, exceptions, or risks and escalate complex matters as appropriate.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field required.
    • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification preferred.

     

    Experience
    • Minimum of two (2) years of compensation experience, including:
    • Base salary administration
    • Market pricing and salary survey analysis
    • Job evaluation and job pricing
    • Incentive or variable pay administration
    • Compensation compliance and regulatory requirements

     

    Knowledge & Skills
    • Knowledge of compensation principles, practices, and market pricing methodologies.
    • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience working with HRIS systems, SAP preferred.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
    • Strong customer service orientation and ability to build effective relationships across the organization.

     

    Additional Information
    • Occasional overtime, including evenings and weekends, may be required to meet project deadlines and business needs.
    • Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training, or conferences.
    • May be required to support company emergency response efforts and remain within the service area during emergency events.
