Purpose and Summary:

The Community School Sercies Coordinator will expand and strenghten the resources and services at designatied elementary schools in Oshkosh through support and partnership with community agencies adnd/or organizations. These programs and services will increase student engagement by addressing chronic absenteeism and increasing access to services, reduce social and academic barriers, and bridge family connectedness to the school and community. This is a grant-funded position, projected to be funded through January 31st, 2029 with the potential for extension and is a partnership between Winnebago County Public Health and Oshkosh Area School District.

Essential Functions:

  • Engage with schools and neighborhoods to develop collaborative relationships with students, families, and community partner to identify and address needs.
  • Connect and coordinate students and families with community resources and services, facilitating communication among educators, public health, and community partners.
  • Establish and maintain systems that increase and sustain access to services for students and their families.
  • Advocate for students and families, promoting coordination among school, public health, and community agencies.
  • Assist in evaluating and reporting on metrics such as student and family engagement and attendance.
  • Collaborate with the pupil services team and other staff to support student and family needs.
  • Collaborate with community partners and organizations to support students and families.
  • Service as a mandated reporter for suspected child abuse or neglect.
  • Facilitate and participate in advisory committees, program evaluation, data tracking, and childhood trauma task forces.
  • Coordinate and support school and family events in partnership with the principal, social workers, the CLC Coordinator, and other staff. Engage students, families, and staff in collaboratively planning and implementing events that strengthen family engagement and support.
  • Provide culturally responsive services and promote equity in all interactions and programs.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Relationships:

  • Reports to OASD student and Family Engagement Coordinaotr
  • Works collaboratively with Winnebago County Public Health Project Lead, UW-Oshkosh project evaluator, Oshkosh Area School District Administration and School teams.
