The global communications team is the voice of Motorola Solutions, bringing to life the company's rich history in innovation and commitment to help keep communities and businesses safe, productive and thriving. Our customers are everyday heroes - from police officers and firefighters to utility workers and educators - and we proudly tell their stories through thoughtful campaigns that span media, thought leadership, employee engagement and other stakeholder communications.

Job Description

This position offers an organized, proactive communications professional with 3+ years of experience the opportunity to support Motorola Solutions' global communications operations, strategic projects and brand initiatives. This individual will provide critical day-to-day media monitoring, project tracking and reporting across rapid-response workflows. Some weekend work may be required.

Scope of Responsibilities

• Preparedness Support: Assist with background research, news tracking and drafting initial messaging templates (talking points, Q&As).
• Operational Rigor & Process Optimization: Serve as the team's organizational hub by establishing standardized workflows, maintaining operational calendars and implementing structured processes to keep projects moving smoothly.
• Centralized Resource Management & Operations: Maintain centralized team files, shared repositories and master calendars to ensure seamless resource access across the global team. Support day-to-day engagement with external vendors and help organize team training programs to drive continuous operational excellence.
• Strategic Projects Coordination: Track project timelines, action items and deliverables for key team initiatives, ensuring projects stay on schedule.
• Real-Time Monitoring & Reporting: Oversee daily media monitoring, risk assessments and sentiment reporting. Compile rapid-alert summaries and media coverage reports during breaking events or major announcements.
• Cross-Functional Administrative Support: Help coordinate review and approval workflows with cross-functional partners in Legal, Government Affairs and Marketing.
• AI & Media Tool Execution: Leverage media intelligence software (e.g., Cision, Muck Rack) and generative AI writing tools to streamline media research, sentiment analysis and reporting.

Specific Knowledge and Skills

• Metrics Reporting & Presentation: Demonstrated ability to translate media coverage metrics, sentiment analytics and team performance data into clear, visually compelling and executive-ready dashboards and presentation decks
• Strong Writing & Proofreading: Ability to write clearly, concisely, and accurately under tight timelines, with exceptional attention to detail.
• High Organization & Detail Orientation: Excellent project coordination skills; able to track multiple tasks, manage timelines, and organize complex information efficiently.
• Good Judgment & Discretion: Sharp news awareness and absolute discretion when handling sensitive, non-public corporate topics.
• Proactive & Eager to Learn: High energy, curiosity, and a positive "go-getter" attitude with a desire to build expertise in communications operations.
• Tech & Media Tool Savvy: Familiarity with media monitoring platforms, analytics tools, and AI productivity software to streamline workflows.
• Collaborative Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and cross-functional colleague

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Political Science or related discipline.
• 3+ years of progressive professional communications experience (corporate or PR agency background preferred).
• Demonstrated experience with media monitoring platforms, research and project tracking.
• Portfolio of clear, well-written corporate communications samples (Q&As, briefing documents, articles, summaries).

Target Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree AND 3+ years of progressive professional communications experience (corporate or PR agency background preferred).
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position. (GC/CITIZEN ONLY)
