Communications Manager

The Manager of Communications is responsible for planning, directing, and optimizing the daily operations of the hospital's telecommunications infrastructure, emergency dispatch routing, and clinical communication devices. This position reports directly to V.P of Facilities and work alongside IT leadership and involves managerial scope over wireless pager networks, Vocera integration systems, billing auditing, and operator workflows. The role manages the Telephone Operator squad, coordinates third-party utility vendors to resolve hardware outages, and maintains detailed emergency code databases to support regulatory reporting and clinical safety initiatives across the health system.

• Completes Assign pagers to the appropriate staff and doctors.
• Knowledge of types of pagers to be issued to each team member.
• Assign Vocera when requested.
• Configuration of Vocera badges
• Complete departmental payroll in Kronos system, Review bills, forms and reports.
• Effectively Manage, coordinates and guides the telephone operators.
• Ensure that all records and statistics are properly maintained.
• Ensure that communications equipment is in proper working order. 
• Notifies appropriate company or vender when repair and of installation is required.
• Involve in Vocera projects.
• Operates a multi-position telephone console.
• Relays emergency information to appropriate sources. 
• Maintain records of emergency codes.  
• Submit a report of codes to the appropriate department.
• Involve in the code taskforce.
• Maintain and update Confidential Book.
