This role is responsible for media relations, social media management, website content, branding initiatives, public information campaigns, press releases, and crisis communications. Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote)

The Arizona Department of Homeland Security (AZDOHS) is seeking a Communications Manager to lead internal and external communications efforts. This role is responsible for media relations, social media management, website content, branding initiatives, public information campaigns, press releases, and crisis communications. The ideal candidate will have experience in communications, media relations, agency branding, and public engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement communication strategies and crisis communication plans.
• Create press releases, media statements, talking points, and business correspondence.
• Manage media relations, social media platforms, and website communications.
• Develop branding materials, templates, and communication standards.
• Conduct communications research and monitor campaign effectiveness.
• Represent the agency at conferences, community events, and stakeholder meetings.
• Support leadership with public information and outreach initiatives.

Required Skills:

• Experience in communications, media relations, and public relations.
• Experience in agency branding and corporate communications.

Preferred Skills:

• Journalism experience.
• Experience writing press releases and working with media outlets.

Work Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
