Description

The Mary Ann Swetland Center for Environmental Health in the School of Medicine seeks a motivated and detail-oriented student assistant to support center-wide communications, event planning, and digital engagement. The ideal candidate will help amplify the Center's impact through creative content development, event support, and data-driven outreach strategies. The candidate must be currently enrolled as a student at Case Western Reserve University to be eligible for the position.

Hours: 20 hours per week, flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments. Students may work virtually for up to 10 hours per week.

Pay Rate: $15.00-$22.14 per hour depending on experience and training.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills: Ability to write clearly and concisely for diverse audiences.
  • Experience with digital communication tools (e.g., Constant Contact, Canva, or similar platforms).
  • Familiarity with social media management and content creation.
  • Basic graphic design skills (using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities: Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to proofread and edit content.
  • Analytical skills: Comfortable interpreting website and newsletter analytics.
  • Experience with event planning or coordination (preferred but not required).
  • Basic understanding of website structure and usability; experience with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress) is a plus.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
