Description

The Commercial Real Estate Paralegal Manager will be a true "player-coach" for a team of 4 paralegals responsible for end to end real estate transactional work. A candidate should have 7+ years of experience as a real estate paralegal and at least a year of experience managing a team.

This real estate investment firm is proud to be recognized as an industry leader in the affordable housing sector. They provide sustainable, high-quality homes in 30+ states. This role is hybrid 3 days a week in their NYC office. The role reports to the Director of Legal Operations.

Description

  • Manage and mentor a team of paralegals, ensuring their professional development and productivity.
  • Operate as a player-coach-independently managing transaction tasks on assigned projects while overseeing and elevating the work of the broader paralegal team.
  • Prepare and revise entity formation and governance documents, including operating agreements, limited partnership agreements, formation certificates, incumbency certificates, written consents, resolutions, amendments, and other corporate documents, based on transaction requirements and direction from leadership.
  • Review title, survey, and title commitments and coordinate and prepare responses to title and survey comments from counterparties.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure legal compliance across operations.
  • Develop and implement processes to streamline legal tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Support attorneys in case preparation and legal research as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure proper documentation of all legal activities.
  • Act as a point of contact for external legal partners and stakeholders.

Profile

A successful Paralegal Manager should have:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of commercial real estate or corporate paralegal experience.
  • Experience managing a team of paralegals or similar professionals.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively under deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
