Overview

We’re seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to create and maintain CNC programs using CAM software to support production across CNC lathes, mills, and multi-spindle/multi-turret equipment. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Planning, and Quality to improve tooling strategies, efficiency, and throughput.


What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Create, maintain, and support CNC programs using CAM software (Mastercam and/or PartMaker) based on drawings, instructions, and product requirements
  • Develop CNC geometries, toolpaths, fixturing, jaws, and 3D solid models to support manufacturing and inspection
  • Collaborate with Planning, Manufacturing, and Quality to support product realization and production processes
  • Identify tooling efficiencies, manufacturing strategies, and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Support process improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing concepts (waste removal, cost reduction, throughput improvement)
  • Build and maintain standard work, work instructions, and documentation related to CNC programming control/standardization
  • Provide troubleshooting and support to Manufacturing and Quality teams related to CNC programs and production processes

Qualifications

Education/Training (Preferred):

  • College degree, vocational certificate, or equivalent hands-on CNC/CAM programming experience (lathes and mills)

Experience:

  • 3+ years in a manufacturing environment utilizing CNC/CAM software

Required Skills:

  • Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a team environment
  • Blueprint/drawing interpretation experience
  • Working knowledge of CNC programming using 3D solid models; CNC/CAM/CAD tools (Mastercam, PartMaker, SolidWorks, SpaceClaim preferred)
  • Knowledge of Fanuc CNC language and standard G-code programming
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • CNC Lathes (2x, 2.5x)
    • CNC Mills (3x)
    • CNC multi-spindle / multi-turret lathes (7x)

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Standing/walking on the production floor as needed; extended sitting at a computer workstation for programming
  • Manual dexterity for tools, screens, input devices, and fine adjustments
  • Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs
  • May require bending/kneeling/crouching during setup/troubleshooting
  • Exposure to noise, vibration, dust, lubricants, and temperature variation in a manufacturing environment
  • Visual/hearing ability to interpret drawings, read screens, and detect machine conditions/alarms
