Build your career with a growing AS9100 aerospace and defense manufacturer in Middleton, MA, where you’ll work on complex, precision-machined components and collaborate with a strong team of programmers, engineering, quality, and leadership. In this CNC Mill Setup Machinist opportunity, you’ll help drive high-mix production by setting up and proving out 3-5 axis CNC milling machines and supporting quality from first piece through production.

Qualifications and responsibilities for this CNC Mill Setup Machinist position include:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a CNC machining environment; minimum 3 years hands-on CNC setup experience on 3-5 axis mills with Fanuc and/or Hurco controls required.
  • Setup and operate 3-5 axis CNC milling machines for complex and diverse machining operations.
  • Interpret CNC setup sheets, blueprints, GD&T, routing sheets, and work instructions to ensure accurate part setup and production.
  • Select, assemble, load, and adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and machine offsets to achieve component quality conformance.
  • Perform first-piece inspections and verify dimensional accuracy using appropriate mechanical and optical inspection equipment.
  • Work with the CNC programming team to develop, launch, and improve new and existing CNC processes and operations.
  • Monitor, diagnose, and adjust CNC processes for tool wear, quality conformance, process stability, or cycle time reduction initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain production and quality documentation, support 5S/PM standards, and communicate setup, tooling, and process issues to the right teams.

Salary: $32.00 - $38.00 / Hour
