Position Summary: The Cloud Database Administrator Engineer is responsible for the architecture, engineering, automation, security, availability, and operational support of The Clearing House's enterprise database platforms across on-premises and cloud environments. This role serves as a senior technical leader responsible for Db2 LUW, Microsoft SQL Server, AWS database services, and database platform modernization initiatives.
The engineer will design and implement highly available, secure, automated, and scalable database solutions supporting mission-critical payment systems and corporate applications. This position requires deep expertise in database engineering, cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, disaster recovery planning, and enterprise-scale database migrations.
About The Clearing House: The Clearing House (TCH) is a banking association and payments company that is owned by the largest commercial banks in the United States. TCH owns and operates the core payments system infrastructure in the US and is currently working to modernize that infrastructure by launching a new, ubiquitous, real-time payment system. TCH is the only private-sector ACH and wire operator in the US, clearing and settling nearly $2 trillion in US dollar payments each day, representing half of all commercial ACH and wire volume. Physical demands and work environment: Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable.
