Salary Range: Base Salary $100,000/year + bonuses (total comp expectation between $150k-$175k/year)

Job Details

We are hiring an experienced Illinois family lawyer who will be responsible for conducting our initial consultations and signing new clients. No litigation caseload! The Attorney will primarily own firm-originated consultations, this is NOT a business development position!

Main Job Responsibilities:

• Consultations: Twelve to sixteen personal consultations per week at steady state, by phone and video (about sixty minutes each to do them well; plan on a realistic maximum of about four per day). Around twelve per week for the first thirty to forty-five days during ramp-up period.
• Closing: Get the engagement agreement signed and the retainer paid.
• Phone-first follow-up on unsigned agreements.
• Documentation and handoff: Same-day CRM entry, written handoff and warm introduction to the practicing attorney who takes the matter.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active Illinois Bar license in good standing
• Substantial Illinois divorce and family law experience with heavy direct client contact. Must have handled enough contested cases to price one accurately in the first twenty minutes.
• Consultative instinct.
• Judgment to turn away matters we should not take.
• Strong on camera and on the phone, with a presentable, distraction-free workspace and reliable high-speed internet.
