The Clinical Research Coordinator (Navigator) ensures business and operational logistics for each research project are identified and implemented prior to project activation and as needed throughout the research project's lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

or

3 years of clinical research experience in lieu of a degree. Study Start-Up experience is preferred, proficient in processing of laboratory samples, phlebotomy skills is an asset.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Skill in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with other members of the healthcare team.
• Laboratory processing skills
• Knowledge of electronic equipment (e-mail, computer, copier, etc.)
• Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures
• Ability to complete documentation with precision and attention to detail; be able to clearly communicate both orally and verbally
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Word

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree and research or grants education and/or certification is preferred

Experience:

• Successful candidates will have previous clinical research administration experience and/or pre-award AND post-award administrative and financial experience.

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Developing a full understanding of the terms and conditions of the executed budget and payment schedule to set up and effectively manage study finances
• Invoicing study sponsors for study tests/procedures, start-up fees, and milestones
• Monitoring the progress of activation of assigned projects by tracking allowed slack times, critical path deliverables, and key milestone deadlines
• Producing financial reports and fiscal forecasts for leadership
• Processing intradepartmental expenses to update study costs
• Managing the participant reimbursement process promptly
• Assisting faculty/PI and study team with the development of internal cost assessment, including the use of the Clinical Trials Management System as applicable.
• Monitoring accounts, managing and tracking budgets and resources to ensure efforts follow project/study guidelines
• Updating financial records, including study payments and tracking invoice statuses
• Monitoring target timelines and expectations to proactively identify problems and to determine their potential impacts
• Drafting standard operating procedures to ensure optimized and streamlined clinical trial financial processes in coordination with the Clinical Research Center
• Initiating the account set up process upon executed clinical trial agreements
• Preparing, submitting, and storing financial documents
• Performs related responsibilities as required

It is MSM's Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are encouraged to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate's offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
