Proximie is on a mission to improve healthcare by transforming the world's operating rooms into connected ecosystems of people, devices, and data.

Our Intelligence Suite transforms operating room (OR) performance, keeping teams in sync and workflows on track to maximise throughput. Simultaneously our computer vision and AI capabilities capture real-time data and detect surgical events - improving quality of data outputs. The result: ORs are optimised like never before - with predictive analytics and automated notifications ensuring patients and staff are in the right place at the right time.

Once practitioners are in the OR, our Surgical Suite enables real-time remote access and creates a secure video record of every procedure; improving training, education, and collaboration. It is an intuitive asset which helps instil a culture of continuous learning, accelerates the adoption of cutting-edge medical devices, and enhances surgical performance across the entire global workforce - improving outcomes and saving lives.

Proximie was commercialised in 2019 and is available in over 500 facilities globally.

Check out our Founder and CEO Nadine's Origins Story here: https://www.proximie.com/about-us/

Over the coming months, Proximie will be accelerating the deployment of its state-of-the-art Intelligence Suite. Each deployment presents an opportunity to validate outcomes, capture insights and drive continuous improvements - all of which will shape both product development and commercial readiness as the business scales.

As we accelerate expansion across the United States, we are seeking Clinical Monitoring Specialists who will contribute directly to the quality, accuracy and reliability of our Intelligence Suite as we onboard new sites across the country. In this role, you will serve a dual function: monitoring live surgical events in real time to validate model accuracy and ensure correct event recognition, while also performing retrospective annotation of previously recorded surgical data to support the continuous training and improvement of our computer vision models. Together, these responsibilities form a critical feedback loop that drives both product performance and clinical reliability at scale.

Currently, we are only able to hire in the following states: California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee and Washington, D.C. All other locations will need to be considered on a case by case basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor live operating room events in real time to validate model accuracy and confirm correct event recognition.
  • Respond appropriately during live sessions in accordance with company protocols, based on observed events or model behavior.
  • Accurately identify, timestamp, and label clinically relevant events.
  • Meet daily annotation targets while maintaining required quality thresholds; flag in advance if meeting volume targets would compromise accuracy.
  • Identify and escalate anomalies, inaccuracies, unexpected model behaviors, or any issues that are affecting, or have the potential to affect, customer experience or data accuracy through established communication channels, demonstrating urgency and critical thinking.
  • Adapt to updated guidelines during the project and incorporate changes into daily workflow.
  • Document escalations with case ID, timestamp, and short description to facilitate consistent guideline updates.
  • Report systemic data issues (e.g., frequent video corruption, missing procedure segments, inconsistent timestamps) and propose improvements to the annotation rubric, examples, or tooling when recurring issues are observed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with surgical workflows, including familiarity with OR procedures, equipment and standard operating practices.

  • Proficient computer skills and confidence using multiple software applications simultaneously.

  • Must be able to work from a safe, secure, and private environment free from distractions. This role involves real-time access to live surgical footage and other sensitive patient and clinical information; candidates must ensure their remote workspace meets appropriate confidentiality standards.

  • Availability to work extended hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays in alignment with surgical scheduling demands.

  • Working knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) data, including structure, terminology and conventions is preferred but not required

  • Strong attention to detail with a structured, process-driven approach to quality assurance.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a remote, internationally distributed team.

  • Comfortable working independently while following established processes and protocols.
