    Position Summary

    Solstice Behavioral Health & Consulting is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and highly skilled Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction and support for students with special education needs. The ideal candidate will create engaging learning experiences, implement IEP goals, collaborate with families and multidisciplinary team members, and foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement individualized instructional programs aligned with students IEPs.
    • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet students academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
    • Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and objectives.
    • Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate educational records.
    • Collaborate with behavior analysts, therapists, related service providers, and families to support student success.
    • Create and maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
    • Implement evidence-based behavioral and instructional interventions.
    • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational goals and accommodations.
    • Maintain compliance with Connecticut special education regulations and district requirements.
    • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Special Education or related field.
    • Valid Connecticut Special Education Teaching Certification.
    • Experience working with students with emotional, behavioral, developmental, and/or learning disabilities preferred.
    • Strong classroom management and behavior support skills.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
    • Commitment to student-centered and trauma-informed educational practices.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working in therapeutic or alternative educational settings.
    • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and behavioral interventions.
    • Familiarity with data collection, progress monitoring, and educational technology.
