Job Description:
Connecticut Education Center, part of the Positive Regard Network, invites applicants for Academic Support/Substitute Teacher at our East Hartford location. Responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing and grading student work, and modifying curriculum as needed to meet individual student needs in collaboration with Educational Administration. The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to supporting student success while working effectively with staff. The Substitute Teacher will provide instruction and age/grade appropriate lesson plans, provide academic leadership in the classroom, provide clear documentation and data collection, and participate in professional development. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; Connecticut Special Education licensure or Durational Shortage Area Permit (DSAP) eligible is preferred. Applicants will be considered with relevant work experience and meeting the minimum requirement for employment (Associate's Degree or higher; or completing at least two years, or 48 credit hours of study at an institution of higher education; or taking and passing a formal assessment measuring one's knowledge of and ability to assist classroom teachers in reading writing and mathematics (WorkKeys or Parapro Assessment) in conjunction with a high school diploma or GED.
Position Responsibilities:
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt, per diem position
Pay rate: $26.50 with Bachelors degree
