    Civil/Structural Designer III

    Location: Duluth, MN
    Start Date: ASAP
    Duration: 1-Year Contract
    Work Model: Hybrid – Monday, Tuesday & Thursday onsite | Wednesday & Friday remote

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Designer III to support Engineering and Operations on pipeline and facility projects in Duluth, Minnesota.

    This role is responsible for developing, updating, and maintaining accurate engineering drawings and design documentation based on engineering concepts, project deliverables, field information, and as-built conditions. The position will work across multiple engineering disciplines and requires someone who is comfortable interpreting field redlines, site information, and evolving project inputs while maintaining drawing accuracy and established drafting standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop, update, and maintain engineering drawings supporting pipeline and facility projects.
    • Translate engineering concepts, project deliverables, and design information into accurate CAD drawings.
    • Review and incorporate field redlines, site markups, photographs, and as-built information into final deliverables.
    • Develop and update drawings including P&IDs, plot plans, facility layouts, equipment drawings, and related technical documentation.
    • Support preparation of Issued for Construction (IFC) and As-Built drawing packages.
    • Ensure drawings comply with established drafting standards, including applicable Enbridge DS 001, DS 002, and DS 003 standards.
    • Maintain drawing control, revision history, and supporting documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Review incomplete or evolving field/project information and independently work through drawing discrepancies.
    • Coordinate with engineers, Project Managers, Operations, Maintenance, field personnel, and other project stakeholders.
    • Interface with external EPCs, vendors, contractors, and drafting service providers as needed.
    • Support accurate Process Safety Information (PSI) and engineering records.
    • Manage drawing deliverables across multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment.

    Required Qualifications

    • 5+ years of drafting/design experience within the oil & gas industry.
    • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD.
    • Demonstrated experience working across multiple engineering disciplines, including:
      • Mechanical
      • Piping
      • Electrical
      • Instrumentation
    • Experience developing and updating P&IDs, plot plans, facility layouts, and equipment drawings.
    • Ability to accurately interpret and incorporate field redlines, site photos, markups, and project documentation.
    • Experience maintaining drawing revisions and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy and quality.
    • Ability to independently interpret incomplete or changing project information and resolve drawing discrepancies.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drawing deliverables simultaneously.
    • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a distributed project team.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous experience supporting pipeline and facility operations.
    • Experience working with Enbridge drawings, drafting standards, and systems, including LPDMS.
    • Familiarity with Enbridge DS 001, DS 002, and DS 003 drafting standards.
    • Experience supporting IFC and As-Built drawing packages.
    • Familiarity with engineering records and Process Safety Information.
    • Knowledge of instrumentation, control systems, and equipment/tagging conventions.
    • Experience with Revit is an asset.

    Working Relationships

    This position will work closely with:

    • Engineering Drawings teams for daily coordination and drawing delivery.
    • Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams to clarify design intent and field conditions.
    • Asset Information Management, PSI, and Engineering Records teams to maintain standards and data integrity.
    • External EPCs, vendors, and drafting service providers supporting project execution.

    Ideal Candidate

    The strongest candidate will have a solid oil & gas drafting/design background with experience supporting pipeline and facility assets. They should be comfortable working independently in AutoCAD, interpreting field conditions and redlines, maintaining drawing accuracy, and coordinating with engineering and operations teams.

    Previous Enbridge experience, LPDMS knowledge, pipeline/facility drawing experience, and familiarity with Enbridge drafting standards would be particularly valuable.

    Important: This opportunity is based in Duluth, MN only and requires onsite work Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, with remote work available Wednesday and Friday.
