Client Overview:
Our client is a growing children's fashion company specializing in the design, sourcing, manufacturing, and distribution of children's apparel and products. They are looking to add a Children's Associate Designer to their team. The company offers a collaborative, close-knit team environment where employees work together in a fast-paced setting and support the development of creative, high-quality products.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$25/hr - $28/hr, Depending on experience

Position Overview:
The Children's Associate Designer will support the design and development of children's apparel products. This role is ideal for a designer with children's fashion experience or someone with a strong interest in designing for the children's market. The Children's Associate Designer will work closely with Senior Designers and cross-functional teams to develop products from concept through samples and revisions.

Responsibilities of the Children's Associate Designer:
  • Support the design and development of children's apparel across assigned categories.
  • Create concept sketches, mood boards, color palettes, patterns, graphics, and product presentations.
  • Develop and maintain product specifications, design files, technical drawings, and presentation materials.
  • Research children's fashion trends, colors, materials, characters, themes, and competitive products.
  • Collaborate with Senior Designers, Product Development, Sourcing, and vendors.
  • Assist with prototypes, samples, revisions, and product reviews.
  • Incorporate feedback while maintaining the overall design vision and brand aesthetic.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Required Experience/Skills for the Children's Associate Designer:
  • 2+ years of experience in a related design role.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Strong understanding of design and product development.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Children's Associate Designer:
  • Previous children's apparel or fashion industry experience.
  • Children's apparel experience is preferred. Candidates with a strong interest in children's product design will also be considered.
  • Experience working with product development, samples, vendors, or sourcing teams.
  • Strong creative and visual presentation skills.
  • Experience developing apparel concepts from initial idea through final product.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field is preferred.
