FULL DESCRIPTION:The COO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all hospital operations and driving operational transformation. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with turnaround experience who can step into a challenged environment, assess priorities quickly, and execute against a clear path forward.
The COO will partner closely with executive leadership to stabilize operations, improve patient flow, and rebuild core systems to support long-term success and high-quality patient care.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
Provide executive oversight of daily hospital operations across all departments
Conduct a comprehensive assessment of operational gaps, inefficiencies, and risk areas
Develop and execute a turnaround strategy focused on stabilizing and improving operations
Optimize patient flow, throughput, and coordination across clinical and non-clinical teams
Identify and prioritize critical operational, infrastructure, and staffing needs
Drive accountability and performance standards across departments
Lead cross-functional teams through change in a high-pressure, politically sensitive environment
Partner with executive leadership to align operational initiatives with organizational goals
Establish metrics, processes, and systems to improve efficiency and long-term performance
Serve as a key operational advisor to the CEO and Board on risk, priorities, and execution
Foster a culture of urgency, ownership, and continuous improvement
The selected candidate will also possess:
Proven experience as a COO or senior operational leader within a hospital or healthcare setting
Demonstrated success in hospital or healthcare turnaround environments
Strong understanding of hospital operations, patient flow, and departmental coordination
Ability to quickly assess operational gaps and implement effective solutions
Experience working in community hospitals or safety-net environments highly preferred
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous situations
Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive accountability and change across teams
Salary Range: $250,000.00 - $350,000.00/year
