Job DetailsKey Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting and financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
- Provide the CEO and Board with clear financial analysis, recommendations, and organizational guidance.
- Oversee monthly and annual close processes and ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
- Develop and maintain internal controls, financial policies, and accounting procedures.
- Manage annual audits, tax filings, regulatory reporting, and nonprofit compliance requirements.
- Oversee grant, donor, restricted-fund, and program-related financial reporting, as applicable.
- Monitor organizational performance and identify financial risks, trends, and opportunities.
- Lead, develop, and manage a finance and administrative team of approximately 4–6 employees.
- Partner with organizational leadership on strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Maintain strong working relationships with external auditors, financial institutions, vendors, and other partners.
- Remain actively involved in QuickBooks and the organization’s day-to-day financial operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Approximately 10 or more years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.
- Previous experience leading an accounting or finance function.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, audits, internal controls, and compliance.
- Experience managing and developing accounting or administrative teams.
- Ability to operate effectively in a smaller, hands-on nonprofit environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present financial information to executives and Board members.
- Experience with QuickBooks or a comparable accounting platform.
- Healthcare and/or nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred.
- CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required.
