Join a Respected Business Law Practice
LHH is working with a client, a well-established law firm in downtown Chicago, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support attorneys handling corporate transactions and franchise matters. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys and clients on sophisticated business matters while serving as a key member of a collaborative legal support team.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience supporting corporate attorneys, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage complex attorney calendars, meetings, and deadlines
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong professional relationships
Prepare, revise, and format legal documents, correspondence, and reports
Support corporate transactions, closings, and franchise matters
Assist with entity formations and corporate governance documentation
Maintain electronic and physical client files
Track attorney time and assist with billing processes
Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets, reports, and presentations
Coordinate document execution, signature packets, and closing materials
Ensure strict confidentiality of client and firm information
Provide additional administrative and team support as needed
Qualifications
Required
Minimum 3 years of legal assistant experience supporting corporate attorneys
Experience with corporate transactions and closing processes
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
Advanced Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with document management systems
Professional client-service mindset
Preferred
Experience supporting franchise law matters
Familiarity with entity formation and corporate governance documentation
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
