We are hiring for one of our clients, a premier regional health system dedicated to providing high-quality, patient- and family-centered clinical care.
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Clinical Lead / Charge Nurse on the night shift. In this operational leadership role, you will act as a clinical resource, lead shift operations, oversee unit care standards, and facilitate smooth patient flow across the continuum of care. You will also support professional nursing development through council participation and Clinical Ladder mentoring in alignment with Shared Governance and Magnet principles.
Clinical Leadership & Operations: Lead daily unit operations on the designated shift. Act as a clinical resource, role model, and mentor for the interprofessional patient care team.
Patient & Family-Centered Care: Facilitate compassionate, safe, and coordinated care tailored to patient preferences, cultural beliefs, and individual needs.
Care Coordination & Throughput: Partner with medical staff and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans. Facilitate patient flow, including admissions, transfers, and discharge planning.
Staffing & Scheduling: Manage shift schedules and Smart Square systems to ensure appropriate staffing levels for quality patient care. Authorize shift coverage or adjustments in collaboration with the Nurse Manager.
Quality & Performance Improvement: Assist in evaluating team performance, implementing clinical practice changes, and upholding unit-specific quality and safety goals.
Professional Development: Support Magnet initiatives and Shared Governance by participating in nursing councils and mentoring colleagues through the Clinical Ladder program.
Education:
Required: Diploma or Associate Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or completion of BSN within 3 years of hire.
Licensure & Certifications:
Required: Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Pennsylvania.
Preferred: National Specialty Nursing Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
Experience & Skills:
Required Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital setting.
Proven understanding of patient safety, risk management, care coordination, medication administration, and electronic health record documentation.
Strong communication, interprofessional collaboration, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to assess patient needs across physical, psychosocial, and cultural domains.
