Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III NICU position requiring a PA or compact license, 3+ years of NICU experience, and NRP certification.

Details

• Level III NICU within an acute care teaching hospital, capable of caring for preterm infants as young as 22-23 weeks gestation
• Patients requiring surgery, ECMO, or specialty services are transferred to a Level IV facility
• Delivery hospital setting where NICU nurses attend deliveries for preterm or high-risk infants
• Manages respiratory support including HFNC, BCPAP, Drager Ventilation, HFOV, and Jet Ventilation
• Provides Total Body Cooling within the unit
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
• Required to work every third weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to Pediatrics and Mother/Baby at the primary facility, as well as to a sister hospital's NICU
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA state or compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and NRP
• Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required, either Level III or Level IV
• Epic charting experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy, blood product administration, arterial line management, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Experience with high-risk deliveries, therapeutic hypothermia, and neonatal abstinence syndrome preferred
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and invasive hemodynamic monitoring preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include attending high-risk deliveries, managing ventilator support, and providing developmental and family-centered care
• Care for neonates across a range of gestational ages, including under 24 weeks and over 34 weeks
• Navy blue scrubs required
