Certified Medical Assistant – Uptown Charlotte, NC

An established outpatient medical practice is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join its team in Uptown Charlotte.

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay: Up to $25/hour

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain medical histories and vital signs, complete screenings, and document in the EHR
• Assist providers with examinations and minor office procedures
• Administer injections and approved non-IV medications
• Perform EKGs, venipuncture, capillary sticks, specimen collection, and CLIA-waived testing
• Respond to patient messages, pharmacy requests, and medication refills
• Complete prior authorizations and follow up on labs, referrals, and provider orders
• Maintain accurate patient records and obtain outside reports as needed
• Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, restock supplies, and maintain efficient patient flow
• Provide occasional coverage at nearby offices as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Medical Assisting program
• Medical Assistant certification preferred
• Current BLS certification
• At least 1 year of recent Medical Assistant experience or completed medical-office externship
• Hands-on experience with EKGs, vital signs, venipuncture, capillary sticks, injections, and EHR documentation
• Strong communication, organizational, and patient-service skills
• Ability to lift or support up to 35 pounds

TB screening and required vaccination documentation or applicable declination forms must be completed.
