    Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

    The Manager of Centralized Staffing & Scheduling is responsible for the daily

    operations of the staffing and scheduling department as part of the Resource

    Optimization Centers (ROC) at the market level. Ensures optimal utilization of

    personnel by coordinating surgical schedules with physician availability, patient

    needs, and operating room capacity, while managing staff assignments and

    addressing scheduling conflicts to maintain smooth surgical operations.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Manage the daily operations of the scheduling and staffing department. Select, hire, train, and coordinate staff, review employee performance, and apply organizational work standards to daily operations.
    • Coordinate the daily activities of the team to ensure required work is

    appropriately prioritized and resourced.

    • Serve as an escalation point for exceptions and issues; coordinate with scheduling operations and leadership on scheduling issues and workflow changes. May assist scheduling staff with complex and disgruntled patient situations, investigating scheduling or template variances, and managing urgent or emergent situations.
    • Recommend, develop, and implement workflow and process changes, focusing on continuous process improvement and waste elimination. Support staff in the implementation of changes; monitor and analyze the impact of change.
    • Communicates with physicians, nurses, administrators, and other departments to coordinate needs of the scheduling department and address potential conflicts.
    • Track key metrics such as surgical case volume, cancellation rates, and staff

    utilization to identify areas of improvement.

    • Provides reports as needed to the office manager. Follows the scheduling policy and utilizes troubleshooting skills to resolve patient scheduling issues/ conflicts. Ensures others are in alignment with following established process and procedures.

    Education:

    Associate's degree in Business, Data Management, or Related Field (preferred)

    Work Experience:

    3 years of experience with staffing/ scheduling software in a 24/7 healthcare setting (required)

    EPIC Electronic Health Record (preferred)
