    Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the development and evolution of the overall strategy for Parallon’s HIM, Coding and Abstraction Services Centralized Coding Unit (CCU). The Manager assists the HIM Executive team and CCU leaders through development and maintenance of reporting and business management tools to optimize professional fee coding operations. The Manager will plan, assign, and coordinate reporting activities to provide insight into CCU’s operational and financial performance. The Manager will actively monitor employee performance and reward or discipline accordingly, address complaints and resolve problems. The Manager assists with ensuring the integration of new technology data adheres to operational and reporting standards. 

    What you will do in this role: 

    • Provide direct oversight of Financial Analysts in managing the development and maintenance of department reports and business management tools 
    • Coach and help develop team members; help resolve dysfunctional behavior within functional area(s); discipline and counsel staff as necessary 
    • Proactively manage (including corresponding communications and escalation paths) significant issues in status of projects, barriers and successes 
    • Facilitate problem solving and collaboration within functional area(s) 
    • Promotes and maintains harmonious and effective relationships and communications with other departments and clients 
    • Translates new business reporting requirements between CCU and PSC Reporting 
    • Works closely with HIM and CCU leadership in the development of key metrics to assess departmental performance 
    • Facilitates creation and delivery of CCU month-end operational recap reports for both external and internal audiences 
    • Maintains documentation on old and new operational processes 
    • Assist CCU Directors in managing information effectively to improve departmental efficiency and performance 
    • Promotes efficiency and repeatability of reporting and analytical tasks, including documentation and automation as appropriate 
    • Strong attention to detail is needed in order to ensure the accuracy of the data being reported 
    • Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement” 
    • Performs other duties as assigned 

    Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management, Business or related field required 
    • Equivalent work experience may substitute education requirements 
    • Minimum three years’ experience in related area preferred with two of these years being healthcare management experience. 
    • Minimum 1-year experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) 
    • Minimum 1-year experience with Microsoft SharePoint administration 
    • Coding certification through AHIMA or AAPC required
