Job Summary: 


The Catering Operations Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and execution of catering events. This role ensures smooth day-to-day operations by assisting with logistics, client communication, inventory management, and on-site event support. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.  The hours range by season.


Key Responsibilities: 


  •  Assist in coordinating catering events from initial booking through execution 
  •  Support communication between clients, kitchen staff, vendors, and delivery teams 
  •  Help prepare event schedules, setup plans, and staffing requirements 
  •  Track inventory of food, beverages, and catering supplies; report shortages 
  •  Assist with packing, loading, and organizing equipment for events 
  •  Provide on-site support during events (setup, service coordination, breakdown) 
  •  Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards 
  •  Handle administrative tasks such as order entry, invoicing support, and record keeping 
  •  Address last-minute changes or issues quickly and professionally 

 
Qualifications:
 
  •  High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s preferred in hospitality or related field) 
  •  Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or event coordination is a plus 
  •  Strong organizational and multitasking skills 
  •  Excellent communication and customer service abilities 
  •  Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays 
  •  Basic computer skills (e.g., email, spreadsheets, scheduling tools) 
  •  Ability to lift and move equipment (often up to 30–50 lbs)
