IMS Care Center is currently searching for a professional, compassionate and knowledgeable individual to fill the position of Cardiac Device Technician for our Cardiology clinic in Avondale. This position is responsible for assisting Physicians, clinical and non-clinical staff in providing medical care, as well as implementing and evaluating direct patient care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills necessary to provide excellent patient care and achieve desired goals. They are primarily responsible for performing scanning, interpreting and completing reports on Holter monitors and Pro Thrombin checks

Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of office-based testing and treatments related to patient care under the supervision of a clinician, including but not limited to Holter/ECAT registration, hook ups, and downloading devices, INR testing, documenting into charts, navigating in the device portals to retrieve reports, prepping for the EP/provider, and scanning into the chart, and other procedures as needed.
  • Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling of patients for clinic, hospital and/or other ancillary medical treatments and tests.
  • Acts as a resource to clinical and non-clinical staff in order to provide optimal patient care.
  • Communicates test results and instruction to patients when directed.
  • Provides clerical support with patient/client notification and documentation, to include but not limited to completing medical records and scheduling follow up appointments with patients.
  • Provides complete and accurate information necessary for billing related to the patient encounter in a timely fashion.
  • Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas.  Disinfects equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures.  Follows manufacturer's recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling hazardous substances.  Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs.
  • Monitors equipment recalls and manages any changes to patients.
  • Maintains patient device tracking process.
  • Develops and maintains an effective communication mechanism with all external and internal customers. Exemplifies service orientation and the team concept in all contacts.

Minimum Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Medical Assistant, EMT, CNA, or EKG tech certification preferred and/or at least one-year of similar experience required
  • Certification as Cardiac Device Technician (CCT or Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) preferred.
  • Experience with office medical procedures and treatments.
  • Always uses personal protective equipment (PPE) when needed to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Flexibility with schedule may be necessary as hours may vary and be outside of normal office hours depending on business needs
