Cath Lab Technician

SPECIAL SKILLS: Demonstrated critical thinking skills to be able to pass orientation.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Completion of formal two-year Radiologic Technology training in AMA approved school that meets requirements for registry by the ARRT or equivalent, on-the-job training including a minimum of four months orientation.
• Certifications: Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration; current Arizona MRTBE license; current BLS.

Preferred Requirements

• Certifications: ARRT(CI), (VI) or ARRT (CV); ACLS

• Maintains Aseptic technique when opening sterile supplies, setting up procedures, and during all invasive procedures
• Sets up and scrubs for procedures in a timely manner that allows the patient to come into the room 5 minutes prior to schedule start time.
• Operates all imaging equipment safely and correctly. Performs preventative maintenance as needed. Ensures proper functioning prior to each procedure, during procedure, and post-procedure.
• Able to scrub, circulate, and operate in the control room for all procedures in the Cardiac Cath Laboratory.
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for the patient's age.
