Busser/Food Runner

We are assisting an exciting new upscale-casual restaurant opening soon in Norfolk, Virginia, with building its opening team. We are seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and hospitality-driven professionals who are ready to deliver exceptional guest experiences and help establish a strong culture from day one.

This position is essential to creating a smooth dining experience by delivering food promptly, maintaining clean and welcoming tables, and supporting servers throughout each shift.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver food from the kitchen to guests promptly and accurately

• Verify each order for accuracy, presentation, and necessary accompaniments before leaving the kitchen

• Announce dishes clearly and place them with the correct guests

• Communicate special requests, missing items, or guest concerns to servers and kitchen staff

• Clear and reset tables quickly according to restaurant standards

• Refill water and assist with other guest needs when appropriate

• Maintain clean and organized dining, service, and server-station areas

• Restock silverware, glassware, napkins, condiments, and other service supplies

• Assist servers, hosts, and other team members during high-volume periods

• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and allergen-awareness procedures

• Complete assigned opening, closing, and side-work responsibilities

• Help create a welcoming and efficient experience for every guest

QUALIFICATIONS

• Food handler certification is required

• Previous restaurant, hospitality, or food-service experience is required

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to memorize table numbers, seat positions, and menu items

• Ability to work quickly while maintaining accuracy and professionalism

• Attention to cleanliness, presentation, and guest needs

• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, carry multiple plates safely, and lift restaurant supplies
